Pay Toilets Coming to NYC (finally)

Pay toilets are finally arriving in New York. The first of 20 will be installed in Madison Square Park this June, which currently has no public restrooms (why isn’t there one attached to the Shake Shack?). The bathrooms are being built by Cemusa, which won the contract for new street furniture for the city, including bus shelters and newsstands. Relief will come at 25 cents per flush and the toilets will clean themselves after each use. Personally, I’d bring an extra quarter with me, just in case the person before dropped a 2-flusher but only paid for one.
