Financial District

I miss my old neighborhood below Chambers Street. I’m not a Financial District native, but I did move there when they were giving grants to renters. I moved away (1) because they raised my rent and (2) because none of my friends ever wanted to come downtown, or even knew how to get there. I don’t regret it, but the Financial District still holds a special place in my heart. The way it would empty out at night, for a loner like me, was divine. I’ve driven by recently, and noticed how much it’s changing and developing. Must be, because two years ago, a luxury studio at 2 Gold Street was going for something like $1850. Now it’s well over $2000.
