Is it summer yet? How ’bout spring?

It’s that time of year again. The calander says one thing, outside says another. Today it was rainy, cold, and did I mention rainy? I was at Coney Island at the crack of dawn for the first selling of the Brooklyn Cyclones season tickets. Mookie Wilson was there. The Daily News was there. What wasn’t there was the summer weather or the Coney Island atmosphere.

Coney Island is the one place that just epitomizes summer to me. The beach, the rides, the freak, Nathan’s. It’s just life. When baseball season ends, the weather changes and Coney Island shuts down, it always makes it sad. It always makes it feel 20 degrees colder than it is.

The calander says May, but it still feels cold. Nathan’s is still boarded up. All I can ask is when is it going to be summer?
