Riding in Luxury

After a few unpleasant experiences with the Fung Wah, I tried out a new way to travel to Boston last weekend: Limoliner. My fiance came across this bus online and we found the amenities listed on their website very intriguing. A comfortable waiting area (NYC Hilton and Boston Sheraton lobby), meal service, on board attendant, and wi-fi access. Pricewise, of course, it can’t compare to the Chinatown bus. But at $89, it’s not as expensive as some of the trains, which don’t have the same benefits.

We waited for our bus in the comfortable Hilton lobby, as opposed to outside on a Canal street. The only thing needed to board the bus (to the seats we’d picked out online) was ID. We sat down in the spacious, comfortable chairs. The on board attendant made an announcement shortly after the ride started, as if we were on an airplane. After eating a breakfast of a croissant and fruit salad, I opted out of getting headphones to watch The Day after Tomorrow and easily fell asleep with the blanket given to me by the attendant.

Possibly the most worthwhile luxury offered is the constant wi-fi access. With outlets at every seat, you can use the internet all the way to Boston. So if you’re a web freelancer who charges by the hour, this ride is definitely worth the extra bucks. As for me, I have to admit that it will be hard to board the Fung Wah after this experience!
