Public Urination

Outside of Bombay & away from the woods, New York City is quite possibly the only place where you can witness public urination & other gross acts on a daily basis.

I’ve seen the same man pee now for a few weeks straight in Queens. I wish I had a camera so I could catch him in the act (from the non-offensive angle) and just post it on the blog, but it’s a difficult thing to do. I’ve never seen his face (or anything else for that matter). I’ve just seen him in the hooded jacket, turned away, and witnessed the steady stream of pee on the sidewalk.

I thought “this is the only guy, I’ve never seen this done before.” Until yesterday when I was at 71st Continental Avenue by the Parker towers on Queens Blvd. A man was peeing in a stairwell right next to where I stood.

Pretty gross but I guess when you gotta go, you gotta go.

This happens in many cities across the world. It is sad that individuals do not have the self esteem to keep their private activities private, and that cities do not accommodate the very human need to urinate. That said, it is also frustrating for tax paying citizens of any country to walk through piss or other forms of excrement on their streets.
