Voting and Parades and Giants! Oh, My!

Whether it’s the close primary race or just the Giants, there’s an excitement in the city today. I went to the polls before work and everyone there just seemed happy, regardless of who they were voting for (not that there’s many Republicans in Queens). Smiling voters, cheerful volunteers, and the prospect of change made my morning vote a very pleasant experience.
With no lines at the polls, I was able to ride the W all the way down to the Financial District (it’s much faster to switch to the 4 or 5, but much less pleasant). As I walked across Broadway to Wall Street, I saw the road lined with Giants fans. They stood in their jerseys and jackets, cheering already for a parade that doesn’t start for another 2 hours from now! I am not a big sports fan, but I found the mood contagious. So, go voting and go Giants!
