Vandalize Me Please

Some kind of new line has been crossed with the sale of a wall “vandalized” by the street artist known as Banksy for big bucks. The thing raises a number of great issues. Legally, ownership of a work is clearly held by the artist unless the work is done under contract or until it is sold– but a wall decorated by an artist without the permission of the owner would be clearly not be owned by the artist. Also, attributing works of art generally done by anonymous artists is pretty hard, so it’s buyer beware.
