Brooklyn Bridge to have lower-wattage LED lights installed next year

The Brooklyn Bridge will go green next year with new LED lights - part of Mayor Bloomberg’s plan to save energy and cut greenhouse gases.

“It is an investment that we think will pay off reasonably quickly,” Bloomberg said of the $500,000 changeover. “What you’re looking for is a bulb that gives off energy in the form of light rather than heat.”
