Where am I at?
So the other night I took a cab to my temporary home at Gold Street (Just by the way, Gold Street and Maiden - those names make it the coolest address ever!), from somewhere around Hell’s kitchen.
So I get in the cab and lookie there, a giant touch screen with all kind of info about what’s up in all NYC, some TV (news) and so on.
What’s pretty weird is, even though on one screen it tells you where your cab is at - you can even follow yourself on a map in semi-realtime -, it doesn’t know where you are at when you go to check out what’s going on around you. You have to flip through a couple dozen neighbourhoods.
I thought that was pretty weird. It’s a little button “here” would do so much good. A perfect example of how technology can be useful, when it’s done right.
