Summer Street Fair

As if to reinforce today’s summer feel, the Financial District hosted a street fair. Presumably in honor of Columbus, the street fair ranged the length of Broadway from around Fulton to Bowling Green. In typical street fair fashion, they served Italian sausages, corndogs, cheap handbags, cheap clothes, and fried oreos.
We enjoyed a tasty lunch of deliciously unhealthy crepes, arepas, and chocolate-covered marshmallows. We decided to skip the fried oreos. This fair is the first of its kind in the area, since I started working here. It might be part of the effort to turn this district into a more residential neighborhood.
