A New Hot Spot

I recently checked out a new coffee shop in Astoria, called Oleput Lollipop. Located right on Ditmars and 32nd Street, it’s a super convenient location. It’s replaced Brazilianaki (whose loss I still mourn) and looks to already be a popular spot.

The place has a cozy, bookish atmosphere, filled with wooden shelves and students at work. They offer a selection of hot and cold beverages, along with desserts and ice cream. I had meant to try out some of their flavored coffees, but when I saw the ice cream menu, I decided to get an ice cream sundae. The ice cream was tasty and I enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere, but the place was hot! Apparently, they have no air and on a sticky day, with the Astorian sun shining on us through the window, that’s not a good thing.

I found myself thinking that this will be a lovely coffeeshop to visit - in winter.
