Selective Hearing or What!?!
My alarm went off at 6:30am like it always does and by 7:00am, I reluctantly rolled out of bed… just like I always do.
I had NO idea what was going on outside. My bedroom is away from the street, so I never really know what the weather is like until I hear the news on the radio. When they were going on and on about the horrible storm and train problems, I ran over to my window in the living room and the sun was starting to break through the clouds. Hm. What the HELL was everyone talking about.
When I left, someone from my building was coming back from the subway since the service sucked and gave me a warning. Lucky for me, I walk to work so my commute was the same as always… but that’s all I’ll say about that.
My phone hasn’t stopped ringing with people telling me stories about the subway horrors, the possible tornado in Brooklyn, and how they FLEW out of bed because of the storm. Me? I didn’t hear a damn thing. How is it that I can hear my neighbors having their lame 3 minute sex marathon above me, but not a huge storm? I either need a vacation or my hearing is set to only hear my alarm, my phone and my neighbors having bad sex. Lovely!
Anyway, for those of you that DO commute, I suggest you check the MTA for any updates. They are STILL having System wide issues.
