No Soup for You

Ah, this phrase captured the hearts of so many. But now is not likely to be heard again. Al Yeganeh (aka. the Soup Nazi) began a small soup shop called Soup Kitchen International, right around 57th Street. The hours were odd and irregular, his attitude deliciously mean, and the soup insanely tastey.
But now his soup can easily be purchased from dozens of locations around the country. After being made famous on Seinfeld, Yeganeh went big opening up a chain called The Original SoupMan. I can’t decide how I feel about this. It makes his soup a little less special. That being said, I’ve been a frequent luncher at The Original SoupMan in the Financial District.
