Another day, another google maps mashup. Looks like today Taxiwiz is taking the interwebs by storm.

Thing is, if it works it could actually be pretty cool. Just enter your start and end points, and Taxiwiz will calculate your estimated cab fare! (It also maps out the most direct route between your two points, though this seems a little less impressive/necessary, as pretty much anyone with two eyes could probably accomplish the same simply by looking at the map…)

Preliminary testing (ie. punching in a few routes with which I’m drunkenly familiar) indicates that the site looks promising. Any reports from the field?
