I need to voice a concern. It’s really serious.

Over the past 9 months, I’ve noticed a disturbing amount of awful plastic surgery. Like, when I say awful, I mean awful. The preponderance of these are women on the upper east and upper west side. I imagine that plastic surgery is as much if not more common downtown, but it’s hyper noticable on the older women in these areas.
First, it’s the nose jobs from the eighties. Oh my gawd. I think plastic surgery has gotten much better over the years, so it’s comical to see a woman with a nose that obviously doesn’t look real on her, and wouldn’t look human on anyone else either.
Then there’re the face lifts. I imagine these are also old school face lifts. Also the eye brow lifts, and on the rare occassion: breast enhanancement.

I mean, if I can tell from 10 feet away that a woman has had work, chances are that it’s not quality work. One time I think I saw the lion lady and whereas it is quaint and funny on tv, it’s really, really scary in real life.

I sure hope that by the time my skin sags, there will have been major advancements in cosmetic surgery. That is if I can afford them!
