Am I the ONLY one that enjoyed the rain??

I was out for about 7 hours in the rain and I had a GREAT day. Did everyone stay home, or was this a big weekend to go away??

Subways?
Not crowded.

My local bakery? Stocked with all of the goodies that are usually gone by the time I wake my lazy ass up on Sundays.

DSW? So quiet that I didn’t have to push past anyone, the store was clean, and the staff was so bored that they were chatting away with all of the customers. By the way, there’s an extra 30% off shoes that are already marked down. I walked out with 3 pairs today!

Whole Foods? No line for food and I was able to sit down and enjoy my food without waiting for a table.

Filene’s Basement was a LITTLE busier because everyone was buying rain boots. At one point there were about 11 people outside of the store changing from their shoes to the boots they just purchased. DSW missed the boat on that one. Not one rain boot in that store.

Had I known it was going to be this quiet, I would have planned a better day of shopping and I really think I could have eaten anywhere I wanted tonight.

The only way to really deal with this weather is to have the right gear. Tall rain boots, long enough rain jacket (Trench coats are sexy!), rain hat and a good umbrella. Not difficult, but I’m amazed at how many people walk around soaked.

Did anyone else get out today?

Oh I wish! I had to travel to Harlem today. The C was not working and all of the yellow trains have been rerouted. Let’s just say it took like two hours.

I think the rail is awesome! However, I must say that I liked it better yesterday afternoon and evening, when I could sit in and relax, and listen to it hit my windowsill, then I did this morning, when I had to trek to work in it.

Since when are trench coats sexy?

I did notice that traffic was reduced greatly. I think the National Weather Service wanted to see a drop in retail sales in New York City. There is no other explanation.

Trench coats are very sexy…. on women and certain rain coats are very sexy on men. I’ll stress the word “certain” on that one.

Besides, the trench coat is one of the Must Have’s for Spring!!! Hmmm… now that I think of it, isn’t it on the top 10 list EVERY year?
