The Quest for Kosher Coke
Foodie blogs, (and the NYPost apparently) are all abuzz over a little known passover treat: Kosher Cola. Part of the Passover is that adherents can’t eat anything derived from grain, and that includes high fructose corn syrup. HFS has lamentably been a part of Cole’s formula since the 1985 New Coke/Classic Coke switch and if the foodie blogs are to be believed it is not only less healthy for us, but less tasty than the pure cane sugar that they previously used. For this magical part of year though Coke (and Pepsi) go back to their cane sugar formulas so as not to lose business during Passover. The Passover Cola is only available in bigger markets with large Jewish populations.
So here’s my question… where can I get it? I’ve been on the lookout for about a week now, and I’ve seen Diet Coke with the telltale specially marked yellow tops, but no regular coke. I hit 4 markets on my way around my neighborhood this morning and found nothing. I really need to taste this magical elixir that will transport me back to my childhood, (again if the foodies are to be believed.) Can someone point me in the right direction?

Word on the street is that Pathmark carries Passover Coke.
But I got a lecture from a Jewish friend that Coke is ALWAYS Kosher, it’s just not appropriate for passover.
Try the Internet. I know Coke in Canada uses cane sugar. You might be able to buy afew cases and have them shipped via freight.
Coke in Mexico also still uses cane sugar, and the foodies are right, it tastes totally different, and way better.
you can get kosher coke at fairway in red hook. mozzeltov!
