Tequila! Amen.

This is Jesus at Ta Cocina in Hell’s Kitchen, enjoying one of their massive margaritas. (Actually, their margaritas are a very average size, but as you can see, to Jesus they were pretty damn big. He had to stand on the table to drink them, in fact.)
Jesus seemed to enjoy the margaritas well enough (he ordered a second), though they weren’t the best he’d ever had. Just a little too sweet for his taste, and maybe a little light on the tequila. But there are definitely far worse ones out there.
When the food came, Jesus tucked into the delicious seafood chimichanga, which he really enjoyed. It was perfectly spiced, the sauce was good, it wasn’t overly fried, and it was full of shrimp, scallops, and pieces of lobster. Yum!
On the other hand, Jesus pronounced one of their traditional combo plates, slathered in red sauce and covered in bubbly melted cheese, a resounding “bleh.” Nothing particularly exciting going on there.
In the end, Jesus said he’d go back if he was in the neighborhood (which is what brought him there in the first place–Jesus spends quite a bit of time in Hell’s Kitchen, as you may have guessed) but he wouldn’t go out of his way to go back.
Tacocina is located at 714 9th Avenue, between 48th & 49th.

Jesus sounds like fun. We should have a meet-n-greet with him sometime.
And with tequila.
