Co-op Restaurant

This restaurant is so cool.
Colors is a cooperative restaurant. Everyone who works there actually co-owns it, right from the executive chef to the busboy. Born out of the shattered Windows on the World in the World Trade Center post-9/11, the restaurant started strong and is now struggling. Co-op members have voluntarily left, the restaurant has changed its setting (going from dress to casual), all in an attempt to draw in customers.
It’s still not doing well. New York is a notorious restaurant city, with something like 70% of new restaurants failing within the first year of opening.
Colors has a remarkable backstory and I encourage you to read their recent article in the New York Times. Also, do more than read. Go support them. I applaud their business model and would love to see it succeed in spite of exceeding difficulty.
