Lost Cat
So I got this flyer today in my mailbox, it read:
LOST CAT
Black and white with black patch on chin. Her name is Patches. Last seen 1/19. She likes to hide in garages please open them to see if she is in there so she can come home. Thank you.
Where’s home? Why is she loose in the street? Where’s the contact information? If this cat truly is in some garage, and I hope she is considering the negative degree weather - what happens when it’s found? Do the finders become the keepers and caretakers? What if Patches is allergic. People, if your pet gets lost, let’s be a little bit smarter about the fliers you’re printing.
This reminds me of that line from Billy Madison where Billy is addressing his first grade class after story time.
“That little boy’s gotta think you got a pet, you got a responsibility, if your dog gets lost you don’t look for an hour and call it quits, you get your ass out there and you find that fucking dog!”
