Relish is Famous

One of my favorite restaurants in Brooklyn, Relish, is constantly used as the backdrop for commercials, TV shows and photoshoots. And while it’s always fun to see them featured, there’s nothing more annoying than rolling up for lunch, dreaming of a buffalo chicken sandwich and seeing the place shut down for yet ANOTHER filming.

From Relish’s site, some of their famous appearances: HBO’s “Angels in America”, “The Good Shepherd” directed by Robert DeNiro, Paramount’s “The Honeymooners”, CBS’s “Love Monkey”, NBC’s “Third Watch”, BET, A & E Television and Kelis’ “Milkshake” video.

A few months ago, the outside of Relish was used in the now-hiatused “Six Degrees” (what can I say, I’m a sucker for Campbell Scott) in a scene where two of the characters are supposedly on a date for the girl’s birthday but the guy takes her to Queens to question a waitress in a case he is working on. There is much talk of this supposedly dingy diner in Queens as the characters leave the Relish, which is neither dingy or in Queens–get it right people! Now Relish is featured prominently in the nationally seen Verizon Wireless commercial for the new enV phone. I’m happy for you Relish, but don’t get too famous on me!
