A Rather Little Italian Restaurant

One of the many things I love about the city is the food. I have a special place in my heart, or rather my stomach, for Italian. Growing up in NJ, frequenting restaurants in the city, I’ve been spoiled with good Italian food. And I still never pass up the opportunity to sample a new “little Italian restaurant”.
I recently visited a rather little Italian place called Frank for a friend’s birthday. Located in the East Village, one of my favorite neighborhoods, Frank is a lively and popular spot.
When we first entered the restaurant, I worried it would be too crowded to stay. But we got a table, shared with another party (they were very nice). The tables are close together, not much walking room. But the place gave off a good vibe right away.
The server came over to announce the specials. Each sounded amazing. I ordered the Pappardelle ai Funghi special and a couple friends ordered the Tuscan-Style Steak special. My pappardelle turned out to be delicious and so (according to reviews) was the steak. The price came out to be moderately expensive, but well worth it for the taste and the vibe. Another great little Italian place in the city.

Frank is GREAT! The owner also owns Little Frankie’s on 1st and 1st… If you go back, try the Barata Mozzarella. INCREDIBLE!
Cool! I’ll have to check it out!
This place is so small and cramped, I’d rather eat dinner in a clown car.
