Best Meals of 2006

Posted By dhaval mehta On December 27, 2006 @ 9:26 am In Food and Drink | Comments Disabled

I’ve scooped up all my favorite meals of the year along with the places I had them at. I am not being paid by any of the restaurants or establishments mentioned in the following article.

Their wheat, gluten, egg, and dairy free cupcake is moist, fragrant, and filling. The best part is that I forgot to throw the wrapper out and had it squished up in my car. Yesterday, I found it and started sniffing it and it was still as delicious. I wanted to devour the freaking wrapper. This babycake also inspired a track on the latest Juicy Show [3]

Buddha Bodai [4] Veg. Chicken with Black Pepper Sauce

Buddha Bodai is not only a vegetarian restaurant, it is a Jain restaurant. Jains refrain from eating onions, potatoes, and garlic. So when you see “garlic broccoli” at Buddha Bodai, they actually use fake garlic!!! It’s not real! How cool! Anyhow, this freaking dish is delicious and the black pepper sauce amazing.

Radha – Pepper Phillycheese Steak

Radha restaurant is no longer in business. It opened up about a year and a half ago and it closed down recently. But this vegan restaurant boasted a truly fused menu of Indian & American cuisine. It was beautifully decorated and very much loved by its patrons. Too bad it shut down. The peppery taste of the seitan and delicious vegan sauce in this dish were mouth watering.

Oz Cafe [5] – Vegetarian Dragon Rolls

A little bit of cream cheese, asparagus, cucumber, avocado and sesame goes between the seaweed and rice in this amazing vegetarian sushi roll. If you’re tired of having cucumber rolls and avocado rolls, try this on for size. For $6.95 though, it’s a heavy price. But the bubble tea and the green tea ice cream are the best in NYC.

My sisterVegan Crepes [6]

My sister’s an amazing cook and recently she got recipes for vegan crepes. She made them once with a pesto sauce with broccoli, zucchini and pine nuts. Another time, it was banana dessert crepes with chocolate fudge. Another time it was nutella ones…my sister’s the best cook ever! And these crepes, I’ve made a part of my daily living.
