You are so right about all of these styles being important here. Even popular music has been so vastly affected by Gotham that it would be virtually unrecognizable without the NY influence. A few famous NY singers/musicians: Billy Joel, George and Ira Gershwin, Pete Seeger, Leonard Bernstein, Bobby Darin, Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis, Jr., Norah Jones, Carly Simon, Lenny Kravitz, Cyndi Lauper, Barbara Streisand, Christina Aguilera, Luther Vandros, Mariah Carey, Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel... Bruce Springsteen, Frank Sinatra, and John Bon Jovi are just a few of the many musicians who grew up within a stones throw away in New Jersey. Our town is an INCREDIBLE place to be a music-lover.
