Paula Scher
Today in class we had another guest speaker, Paula Scher. Her work was absolutely stunning, I was very impressed. She used to teach portfolio class at our school (The School of Visual Arts). She mainly designs with text. The things I’ve found most impressive were her collaborations with architects to design offices, addresses on buildings, etc. It’s amazing how many things in the city were designed by her. The signs around Madison Square Park, right by where I live, the citibank logo, etc. Anybody interested in graphic design should deffinitely check her out.
This is why I envy SVA. If only they participated in AICAD mobility, I’d probably be there this term.
