Introduction
Hello all,
I am your newest blogger… Hope you like my posts. If not, I’m cool with it.
- My favorite thing about this time of year is not the foliage or the holidays, as it is with many other northeasterners… For me, my favorite part is noticing other people’s choices of clothing. Inevitably in this city, there is a group of people who refuse to make the switch from shorts to heavier clothing. So, right on through Thanksgiving, you have those aloof, socially awkward dudes who are still wearing short sleeves and maybe even sandals around town, clearly cold as hell but trying their best not to show it… I love those guys! They keep me laughing until the spring comes again.
- Hoodlums of NY, if you are going to stab someone, maybe you shouldn’t videotape it… That is Stabbing 101. Have a little foresight please.
- Jets fans have to be one of the most immature fan groups of any sport. I was at the game this weekend and they were playing one of their rivals, the Miami Dolphins. Every time the Dolphins would mess up, which happens often these days, the guy behind me would shout “AH HA!” (think Nelson from the Simpsons, but after 25 years of a 2-pack-a-day smoking habit). What a ridiculous and juvenile chant… The only time I witnessed more immature fans was in college in Boston, when during a lecture in marketing class, the students actually broke out a “Yankees Suck” chant; this of course after the Sox had lost to the Yanks the night before. The chant was both illogical and irrelevant to the class. The other thing I notice about Jets fans is they seem predisposed to wearing old school 80’s fashions and trying to play them off as current. I notice a lot of fans with a “pleather” 8-ball style Jets jacket. Those things weren’t even cool when they were cool.
- If you like burgers as much as I do, you will LOVE this site! But, I must say that while everyone raves about Corner Bistro’s burger, I can think of at least 5 places that I think are much, much better (Shake Shack, we hardly knew ye)… Same goes for Lombardi’s pizza. I would rate both Corner Bistro and Lombardi’s as above average, but neither is the best in the city. Thoughts?

Welcome Noah.
I think our paths have crossed on this forum.
Look forward to your posts.
“He loves to try new things,”
sorry dude you are wasting your time here….!
Thanks for the welcome, Arzan! Glad to be here.
I feel like one of those jackasses that can’t get out of summer clothes. I mean, I’m all about jeans and hoodies and coats, but for some reason I can’t get out of my flip flops. Probably because I can’t afford a new pair of shoes? I really need to get on that though because walking around in the rain (on days like today) in flip flops SUCK! Not to mention these are the same $5 flip flops I wore on my western trip in August- walking ALL OVER Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco (even over the Golden Gate Bridge- twice!) so you can be they’re pretty worn out. Maybe after my next paycheck in two weeks I can afford a pair of shoes… hopefully it won’t get too cold before then!
Welcome to the greatest unpaid job in the world.
Kim, I don’t think that classifies you as one of the jackasses I was referring to… I wear flip flops on warmer days, and wear them around my building constantly (summer or winter). I am more talking about the overly pale, social retards who wear a faded K-Rock short sleeve t-shirt in late November, and walk around with their hands in their pocked and are obviously really cold.
They may or may not also have a backpack that is REALLY big.
