I just want a nice cup of Coffee with the Greatest Atmosphere
After reading about Dana’s love for some of the greatest bars in the country in Billyburg, I started longing for coffee places in Queens.
There really aren’t any other than the Starbuckses. Those are nice places to hang out, but a place that is not racist and not Starbucks in Queens . . . I’m open for suggestions.

Maybe some members of my group would know where to get the best cup of non-starbucks, non-Queens, non-racist, extra foam, with whip cup of smoken-hot coffee in New York City.
Ironically, yesterday I made the observation that there are no Starbucks in black neighborhoods. Does this mean black americans do not drink coffee or does it mean Starbucks is racist? hmmmmm

P.S. I think that the plural for starbucks is just starbucks ( rather than starbuckses ) although I could be wrong on that because in addition to taking over the world, I think that they are getting an entry into Websters Collegate Dictionary as well this year.
I’m actually not a coffee drinker; I drink tons & tons of tea. I favor Korean teas & then Japanese teas, & then I will settle for the TAZO stuff at Starbucks because it is wherever I am when I’m not home.
Kona coffee here in Hawaii? It’s for the tourists. McDonalds has a nice blend, I hear. And there is a Lion’s Coffee location out in Kaka’ako, which is kind of an industrial area completely lacking in atmosphere.
Starbucks is just everywhere. Everyfuckingwhere. With most Hawaii residents (that I know anyway) working 2-3 jobs to pay our rent (No one goes to the beach. Beach is for tourists.) we’re happy to have someone else, anyone else, make a cup of coffee for us without us having to walk too far. And if it’s piled high with flavorings, sugar, cocoa, & all that other shit I see my friends drinking, then it’s not necessary to have good coffee beans anyway. And this from a non-coffeologist.
So yeah… no Kona coffee.
But sorry about your lack of good coffee places, since obviously you care. =(
Maybe I should drive around a lot looking for a place.
It’s a deli at queens blvd/33rd street.
I place is pretty sophisticated, have alot of varieties to choose.
We went for work and stop there to have breakfast. sandwich and the exclusive coffee they name it was superb.
Unfortunately, I dont remember the deli’s name but its right across the subway station of 33rd street/7 train.
One of the best cups of coffee that can be had in this fair city is at Aubergine Cafe. When I’m not at Starbucks oppressing people, Aubergine is my spot. The food and coffee are really good.
Oh, and yes it’s in Queens. Sorry ’bout that ;-)
Ya know what? I forgot another favorite. I used to go to a place in Sheepshead Bay called Cappuccino By the Bay. It’s on Emmons Avenue. I don’t even know if it’s still there because I haven’t been there since I lived in Brooklyn, but you may want to check them out as well.
