Blogosphere Drama: OverheardinNewYork.com

ohiny.jpgAbout three weeks ago I received an email from Michael Malice of OverheardinNewYork.com fame informed me (and lot of other people whose name starts with “D”–all on the TO: and CC: line, by the way: talk about bad email etiquette!) that he had broken from OHinNY and started his own similarly-named site, NewYorkOverheard.com. The look and type of content of the new site is pretty much more of the same–which Malice cleverly billed as “More Overheard, Less Overhead”. All this pointed towards some big, bad inter-blogger drama between Malice (the guy who edited all the entries and wrote the headlines) and S. Morgan Friedman (the OHiNY Publisher). And it also meant I had yet another feed to add to the ever growing collection of productivity-sucking content I like to call my RSS reader. But the good news was there was twice as much random, eavesdropped wisdom for all to enjoy. But at what price?

Well I’m happy to report that according to Malice’s new site, an agreement has been reached between all the parties and NewYorkOverheard will be retired in the next twenty-four hours. Seems like they kissed and made up. Aw.

And more good news: Tomorrow marks the first preview day of their new site OverheardAtCollege.com, which along with OverheardintheOffice.com completes their snooping blog trifecta. Congrats!

Someday I hope one of these evesdropping sites helps solve a crime or something. Otherwise, they seem like a royal procrastinating waste of time to me.

they’re good for a fair bit of schadenfreude and usually amusing…but I can’t see then curing cancer…which is what we are working on here at MBNYC!

    2 Facts
    1. Religion is the biggest cause of hate and the biggest cause of war in our world.
    2. Religion, ALL RELIGION, is the biggest fraud ever perpetrated by man against man.
