Roger’s in Jail

Does anybody feel sorry for union leader Roger Touissant for being in jail? I mean I understand that he caused the Transit strike and left millions without transportation. I disliked him immensely for that. But in the end, the man stood up for something he believed in and supposedly was trying to help his fellow workers. I do not know the politics of Roger Touissant, but after all is said and done, I think he should not have had to do jail time for his protest. I mean isn’t fining them $2.5 million enough? And on top of all that, the city is now trying to renegotiate the contract they agreed upon which ended the strike.

And the funny part is most people will always side with the government and not the workers when the matter is regarding unions. M’eh poor bastard, at least he has some friends.

Most people I know are hard core leftist so they definitely side with the unions.

There’s always a matter of spin. Will the public be mad at the union for striking or mad at the govt for not preventing/ending a strike to the benefit of the union members (and public)?

The MTA is the worst-managed organization ever and if they just got their shit together instead of shuffling money from one bad investment to another in order to claim a loss for the fiscal year then they could meet union demands.

Shuffling instead of solving is a problem no matter what the organization.

And I don’t know if you’re familiar with the Sim City games, but in them, if you ever reduce the amount of money the city provides to the transportation department; all your roads/rail get damaged almost immediately. It’s quite funny how accurate that game is.
