Dangling for 12 hours

The Roosevelt Island cabel cars lost power last night while people were riding inside. The rescue efforts started at 5:15 pm and ended at 5 am today. Should it really take 12 hours to rescue 69 people? I thought that was kind of slow…but at least everyone survived.
I have always wanted to ride those cable cars . . . now I’m questioning whether or not I still should want the same.

I would do it.
I’ve gone over them a few times. They offer a fantastic vista over the east side of Manhattan and u get an amazing view of the industrial quality of architecture of the Queensboro Bridge.
How awful it would be to not have access to a bathroom for that length of time. Yikes!
I have never ridden the cable cars, but now I really want to give it a whirl. Is that strange? Wanting to go for a ride on something that has just seriously malfunctioned?
It is?
OK, just checking.
It’s not strange if you’re turned on by danger. It’s just like wanting to ride a roller coaster. You know that there’s a 15% chance that any coaster you go on will malfunction and leave you hanging upside down for a while - or worst - the coaster could drop you on top of some kid licking his ice cream cone, laughing at a clown who is giving him his first glance at juggling.
But yeah, not so strange if you’re into that kind of a thrill.
Doesn’t Spiderman usually save people from trouble on the Roosevelt Island cable cars? Where’s the ol’ web-slinger when you need him?
Spidey’s probably in denial of his super-hero status getting lap dances at Scores.
