The Perfect Sandwich

Yes, this is a subjective thing, but not for me. While driving around in Long Island surrounded by meateries and BK, McDonald’s and Taco Bell, I found solace in Subway. I’m in no way promoting Subway to anyone, but I know I have always had difficulty finding something delicious in the place. Since I’m a born vegetarian, eating veggies and cheese between bread is a normal and common occurrence for me.

But, today, I finally made that combo that I think will become my default sandwich, especially when I recreate the magic of restaurant food at home.

Okay, ready? Here it goes:

Foot Long Wheat Bread (Yes, I have tried the Italian, the Cheese & Herb, the White, all of them, trust me, wheat rules), Provolone Cheese Slices, Lettuce, Tomatoes, a ton of black olives, cucumbers, green peppers, olive oil (plain, no vinegar, no other dressing), salt & pepper, and oregano.

Next time I’m toasting the mofo.

The fact that you called your subway sandwich a mofo makes me happy.

wheat does rule! and you definitely have to toast it — they usually don’t over do it, like quizno’s has a tendency to do, so the bread is still a little chewy. glorious.

thanks billy, i will forever continue calling it what it is - a tasty mofo.

quizno’s is a bit weak, they haven’t perfected the flavor of their ingredients.
