Recently, a bunch of friends and I, inspired by Thao Nguyen who took a picture of the subway pervert who thought it would be cool to masturbate in front of her, started a blog called Holla Back NYC on which we welcome posts from peoples who have been harrassed on the street.
In a place like NYC, street harrassment is incredibly common and most people just shrug it off, either the guys are lame-os or they “meant it as a compliment.” But we couldn’t help but get mad that some people out there think it’s totally okay to objectify us with words. So, we started Holla Back NYC with the hopes of exposing the assholes that have no respect for us.
Next time somebody says something (i.e.: hey beautiful, nice tits, can i get your number?) that makes you feel uncomfortable, holla back. Take a picture, draw their ugly mug, write something about it and submit it to hollabacknyc at gmail.com

yeah, limiting your exposure to close friends, relatives, and neighbors is advised. unless you fancy the idea of a picture of your private parts on blogspot.
