I headed over to the 8th Annual Chocolate Show today and I think I may have overdone it. I had my $25 worth and thankfully, I joined a gym on Friday so I was able to work it off.

Thing is, you can’t help it… unless you’re not a chocolate lover. There are about 70 booths and most of them have samples. Really REALLY tasty samples. Even the low calorie chocolate is good and now I don’t think I can look at chocolate the same way anymore.

It’s not just chocolate though - there are books, teas, cookies, chocolate paintings, sculptures, dessert wines, port, posters, peanut butter and more.

Anyway, back to the good stuff. I think I tried about 30 different chocolates and here’s my list of the best (short list - I can’t remember everything I tried):
1. Mon Ami Truffles - International Gold Star Trading corp. We got our first taste while waiting on the long ass line. Probably the smartest thing because they got to us before we got sick of all the tastings.
2. Chocolate Truffles - Gustaux Chocolatier
3. Caramel Truffle - Neuchatel Chocolates
4. Double Chocolate Truffle - Martine’s Chocolates
5. Dulce De Leche European Drinking Chocolate - Schokinag

I ended up buying 4 boxes of truffles, one can of drinking chocolate, and 2 small bags of cookies. A little much, but I have friend who is getting chocolate for her birthday on Tuesday… no way I can keep that in my apartment.
