Seriously, Dana? Considering how dashing Rufus is, it wouldn't be a fair competition.

Hey Art, I totally believe you. I am sure Rufus is adorable. But not nearly as cute as my cats Jules and Vincent. Oh uh...I feel a old fashioned NYC MetBlogs "whose NYC based cat is cuter" smack down ala www.kittenwars.com coming soon...

Well, he didn't try to pee on someone. He just peed. And, it dribbled a bit. Ha, I tried to tell the woman that he had a water dish in his carrier, but she wasn't having it. She actually wasn't as pissed off as I'd imagine some people would be if a cat peed on them.

And, Dana, Rufus is a very good looking cat (I bet every demented cat-owner says that). You just can't tell that from his paw and his urine; that's all.

I really think the amount of shit people give you about having pets on the train is directly proportional to how cute they are. I once saw this chick on the train with a box filled with 6 or 7 tiny little newborn kittens. They just barely had their eyes open, flailing about in this little box. And it totally turned a train full of hardened commuters into Jell-O. Everyone was cooing, smiling and laughing and watching them--it was insanely adorable. Maybe you just need to face the fact that Rufus isn't as cute as you think he is. Hehehe...just kidding. But the peeing thing...SO not cute.

I've never had a problem taking my cat on the train. I think a lot of it has to do with attitude. You've got to ride the train with an air of confidence; like you don't give a shit what anyone thinks (except for cops, of course, those MF'ers will kill your ass) and just carry your pu$$y with pride. ;)

Well, I know that small caged/in-carrier animals are acceptable, but I'm pretty sure it's not okay to just bring a dog on a leash onto the train -- though I have seen people do that (maybe it was someone with special needs).

But, yeah, I definitely have panic attacks at the very thought of having to travel with my cat on the subway. I hate when I'm harassed on the train.

wow thats hilarious. I've had the same situation with my cat, only I take him in my Car. DC Metro here is pretty-anti pets. Thats weird too I thought you could take dogs and cats onto the NYC Subway? I've seen dogs and people with their carriers before!
