I have applied for positions at design firms Downtown and have interviewed for a couple, but I just can't compete with people who have years of experience behind them. And, I studied psychology in school -- most of my skills come from stuff I've picked up on my own or while doing extra-curriculars. But, it's not professional experience, and I don't have much of a portfolio, so it's tough. Thing is, I am a damn hardworker. I'm extremely responsible and adapt very easily to situations, so I'm confident that I could be potentially great at any job. But, simply saying that isn't enough to convince prospective employers. That bootcamp thing you mentioned sounds really interesting, actually. I do have some money saved, just in case, so if there was the prospect of making good pay after a 6-week period of earning little, I'd still be interested. So, yeah. Look out for the e-mail. We work at lot with ad agencies and that has a creative bent to it. I'll ask around the majors for you to see if there is anything. the only immediate tips I have are that several design firms in tribeca are looking for people and posting on craigslist and in the neighborhood. Also there are a few PR/Ad agencies who have 6 week trainee/bootcamps this summer-get a low wage for 6 weeks and work your ass off for the chance to get an extremely well paying job thereafter. Art-
