Moby @ Webster Hall
The demigod of dance music Moby is giving a live performance at Webster Hall on April 20. This is great. Moby is my favorite in techno/trans/dance/electronica region though I’d really hated some of his tracks equally. I guess while the Play and its B-Sides had some of the coolest tracks that even appeared in several “cool” TV ads (in likes of Guitar Flute & String, Find My Baby, Bodyrock and Sunspots), the 18 really required getting used to its slow pace and diminishing creativity. Still, this New York born keyboard maverick who started his career as DJ in dance clubs in ’90s is special. He likes to experiment with all kind of genres usually playing all instruments by himself so there is always something different about his tracks than usual techno/dance pile. He does few concerts now and then but I guess those would be boring because he would be the only guy on the stage spinning the turn table or playing the keyboard. The real fun would be when he comes back in real dance club as a real DJ for a night and gets back to his old days! So that’s where Webster hall comes in. This is his only performance scheduled for NYC during his tour so no wonder tickets were sold out even before this news got out. Still you can look for your tickets on places like eBay or Stubhub (I got mine from eBay).
