The new purse

I needed coffee. There are four coffee shops within a two-block radius of my apartment. Since I’m lazy, I usually hit the closest one, which is right across the street. Sounds like a good plan, no? Well, no. Because that coffee shop is populated by what seems to be the standard in this neighborhood: new parents. I was the only person there not pushing a stroller or carrying one of those backpacks-for-your-baby that goes in the front. I feel like I should just ditch the messenger bag and get myself a stroller so I can at least fit in. I mean, think about how much more stuff I’d be able to cart around with me. The jumbo bottle of water, a selection of reading materials, several changes of clothes and footwear. Yeah, it may be a pain to get on the subway, but at least I’d have a guaranteed seat…

Are you kidding…no guarantees on getting a seat in the subway…even if you’re pregnant
