I second that emotion

Def Jam founder Russell Simmons finally got into his apartment building located across from the World Trade Center (he hasn’t been allowed in since 9/11). To celebrate this occassion he let photographer Glen E. Friedman flyer his windows with peace signs and the words “no more war” and “no more lies”. I remember seeing the MTV Cribs where they documented Simmons house for the show. They broadcast it soon after 9/11 explaining that the building had been severly damaged from the attack. For some reason the whole event really hit me then. First seeing a room-by-room tour of this posh house, and then finding out this home you had just been in was directly–and I mean directly–across the street and at close to eye level with the attack. a surreal experience.

wouldn’t it be amazing if you looked at the skyline of the 5 boroughs and every window had one or more of these flyers proudly posted on it? should the revolution begin continue on paper?

Fools! Can you be anymore disrespectful to the poor souls that lost their lives at Ground Zero than to preach uninformed,mis-guided anti-war rhetoric at the site that compells us to take the action that we took?? I think not.
Better yet, lets move forward with the peacenik movement and become the whipping boys to every nation and despot that considers America evil for being a land of Free Choice and success.

Misguided? Really? Where are those WMD? Where’s that proof that Iraq had *anything* to do with 9/11? Where’s Osama? Sounds more like people are losing their lives right this minute (more than 900 so far) due to some misguided rhetoric, and I think the only respectful thing to do is not let any more of them die.

I think it’s totally appropriate to have these signs in front of the WTC memorial. We mourn the loss of thousands of Americans when we look at images of the WTC (or the site itself), yet we continue to allow American and Iraqi soldiers and civilians to be slaughtered on Iraqi soil. It’s time to stop being hypocritical.

What does Normandy have to do with the price of fish, markie? Excuse us for needing to distinguish between protecting “this country” and protecting Dick goddamn Cheney’s oil interests, but a war entered into under false pretenses is not in fact its own reward, and I suspect the families of those killed both in Iraq and on September 11 would agree.

Also? Don’t be calling anyone else a fool until you learn how to operate spell-check.
