D gets a B+

The subway’s report card just arrived. The fact that the 6 scored top ratings boggles my mind, honestly, but the main train I use, the D, got about the marks I expected.
Highlights from the “duh” department: The N stinks; the G breaks down more often than a Jaguar; you can’t understand a damn thing the F conductors say.
Grading chart is here (hope that link works; if it doesn’t, you can access the chart from the Metro main page).

i’m not surprised at all that the 6 got the highest rating. brand new fleet of trains, automated announcements, regular and frequent stops. the only thing that really bothers me when taking the 6 is that the narrow cars do very little to compensate for the overcrowding that occurs during rush hour.
ironically, however, i recently bought a bike in protest, since i can’t stand taking the subway to and from work anymore, and the 6 and 4 trains (both in the top five) are the ones i’d take on my commute. oh well. i still can’t stand them, even if they are better than the others.
