I got your bollocks right here!

For the past two days my block (21st between 8th and 9th) has been completely shut down, full of trailers, camera equipment trucks and lots of people standing around drinking iced coffee and looking bored. I finally asked my super this afternoon if he knew what they were filming and he grunted “Continuality 2…with film star…Bollocks”. And I’m thinking…Continuality 2? You mean I missed Continuality 1? Dammit! And is Continuality even a word?
After running his mumble-speak through my ever-handy film information translator, it seems that Sandra Bullock is on my block filming Miss Congeniality 2. Oh joy. Is Shatner here too?
This brings back memories of the dozens of times my old hood was shut down to film Sex and the City, albeit that was much more interesting. But it sparked another memory of the strangest filming I was every privy to in NYC. About 3 years ago, outside of the swanky Metronome, I saw a PA wrestling with 7 goats on leashes. He didn’t look pleased. When I asked what they were filming he just laughed, shrugged slightly and was promptly cued to lead the animals into the club…very much against their will. I still wonder to this day what the hell they were doing in there. Anyone else have any other kooky NYC voyeuristic filming tales?

i was at my gym on 93rd and 2nd and there was filming going on outside. i can’t imagine what they could have been filming, but i just kept running on my treadmill, watching the whole thing. it kind of amazes me how, and i’m obviously included here, people will see cameras and lights and are instantly drawn to watch or at least find out what’s going on. as i was running, nothing was really happening at all, but i couldn’t stop looking out the windows.
i work on 5th avenue by the met and there’s always filming going on there.

ah… never mind the bollocks. I once saw a PA walking 6 dwarves on leashes into the Kiev. They apparently had all just come from the piercer and had a bad case of sore nipples and wouldn’t stop whining.
