Burning Bright

Detroit’s Esteban Yan got the heave from last night’s Yanks/Tigers game for throwing at A-Rod’s head.
Two things here. First of all, it’s a pitcher for…the Tigers. Can we really hold this man responsible for his actions? Talk about a diminished capacity defense; the team is freakin’ terrible. In the stands, we just assumed Yan flailed it and it wasn’t on purpose.
Second of all, also in the stands, we considered that the highlight of the evening, because, again…Tigers. Terrible. It was also so sticky and uncomfortable in the stands (we would have dressed more coolly, but we had Stadium Club passes, and the four of us alone among the throng took the dress code seriously) that our whole section was completely enervated by the end of the first inning. So, thanks, Steve, and thanks, home-plate umpire. That guy was rad, the pitch hadn’t even landed by the backstop and the ump was like, “Ehhhhhh NOPE!”
And in conclusion, I love the part of that linked article where A-Rod is all, “Don’t look at me, I thought we were friends.”
